Mungo - It&#039;s quite rare that there is a complete rupture, which is normally caused by a clean cut through the tendon. If this is the case surgery is the only option. Most ruptures are partial ones where there is enough of the tendon to heal by way of regeneration and reattachment of the tendon.</description>
