		<description>Sparrows Pond was/is an ornamental lake for the long-demolished Gosfield Place which was the seat of the Sparrow family, the bridge is known as Sparrows Bridge and is Grade II listed, although nobody takes care of it, sadly.

The water in the lake comes from Gosfield Lake and forms Bourne Brook beyond the small dam that you found, it eventually flows into the River Colne.

It is a beautiful spot, I have many happy memories there...</description>
